As more and more people love to take their dogs with them on holiday, we are delighted to offer dog friendly cottages in Cornwall that welcome well behaved dogs all year round.
With 550 acres of farmland to explore and miles of coast paths and dog friendly beaches all around us, you will have everything you need to ensure a perfect holiday with your dog.
There are more dog friendly beaches in North Cornwall than anywhere else in the South West and not to mention miles of coastal and country walks, the perfect destination for a dog friendly holiday.
The beaches below are a small sample of our favourite dog friendly beaches in Cornwall.
Daymer Bay, near Wadebridge: Sandwiched between the popular beaches of Rock and Polzeath, the more secluded Daymer Bay is in a different league with its sheltered sandy smile backed by Brea Hill. Wear the dog out on a climb to the top of this perfectly formed knoll and enjoy a bird’s eye view of the scenery that inspired the late Poet Laureate John Betjeman. Or, trot along the coast to Rock and board the ferry for an adventure to foodie Padstow and the coastline beyond.
Trebarwith Strand: Generally considered North Cornwall’s premiere beach Trebarwith has it all. Lovely golden sand, rock pools galore and good surf. As the tide drops away the beach here grows into an expanse of sand backed by high cliffs with deep caves. What better way to spend an afternoon exploring with the family and dog in tow. There’s plenty to do around the beach too with great coastal walks, places to eat and a good pub (the Port William) looking out over the beach.
Rock Beach: Located across the Camel Estuary from the bustling fishing port of Padstow, Rock Beach is a beautiful unspoilt long stretch of fine white sand, backed by grassy dunes and set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A small passenger ferry makes regular trips across to Padstow. The South West Coast Path, (accessible from the car park) links Rock Beach to neighbouring Daymer Bay and then onto Polzeath Beach, offering gorgeous views of the Camel Estuary and Padstow Bay along the way.
If you’re planning on bringing your dog, please let us know when you book. There is an extra charge of £30 per dog per week. Please note that The Manor House, The Barn, Marsh Cottage and Ridgeway Park do not accept dogs.
If you’re visiting Cornwall on holiday this summer, and are planning to take your dog with you to the beach, please be aware that some Cornish beaches operate a seasonal dog ban. Depending on the beach, this usually starts from Easter day and runs until 1st October. Check out 360 degree beaches to find out more about our dog friendly beaches.
