Conditions of hire for our self-catering cottages

The Olde House reserves the right to change the terms and conditions at any time.

All bookings are subject to the following terms & conditions and will be considered an effective contract upon payment.

Bookings cannot be taken online to commence within the next 48 hours.

All bookings commence at 4:30 p.m. on the day of arrival and terminate at 10:00 a.m. on the day of departure.

Cheques can be made payable to Andrew & Janice Hawkey. Bank transfer to acct: 50469033 sort code: 20-74-20. Barclays Bank, 10 Church Street, St Austell, Cornwall.

Deposit

If a booking is made 4 or more weeks before the start of the holiday, 50% deposit is required.

If a booking is made less than 4 weeks before the start of the holiday, full payment is required.

Once a booking has been confirmed the full cost of the accommodation will become payable not less than 4 weeks before commencement of the holiday, the date of which will appear on your Confirmation of Booking form.

A 2% charge will be applied to all credit card transactions.

Cancellation of Guarantee

The Olde House runs a Cancellation Guarantee scheme to ensure that if you are forced to cancel the whole of your holiday for either of the following reasons all monies will be returned.

(a) Any of the named persons being called for jury service or as a witness, during the holiday period.
(b) Accidental injury/illness/quarantine or death of any of the named persons, before the start of the holiday.

Any claim under this scheme must be accompanied by written evidence.

I understand that if I am unable, for any reason, to take up the reservation, except in circumstances provided for in the Cancellation Guarantee scheme, the whole rent is payable.  If you decide not to take out our Cancellation Guarantee scheme and you cancel your holiday, no refund is possible, however we are happy to hold all monies recieved for you to use another time.

If during peak times however, The Olde House can relet the cottage, all monies received will be returned, less any expenses incurred and a handling charge of £25/ week.

Cots, high chairs, stair gates and put-u-up beds are all available on request free of charge.

Optional Extras

The only optional extras that are charged for will be for towels and pets.  Towels are charged at £4 per person per week and £30 fee per dog/cat, per week is payable and the following conditions apply.

  • Some cottages do not accept dogs.  No more than 2 dogs in any one property.
  • Pets are not allowed on the furniture or beds.
  • Pets must be not be left alone in the property or the gardens.
  • Owners must ensure that pets do not foul the gardens.

Brochure Description

All properties have been inspected by Visit Britain and graded to their standard (3 & 4 Star).  Every effort has been made to ensure that the particulars are as fair and accurate as possible.

Non-Availability of Property

In the event that a property becomes unavailable due to reasons beyond the control of The Olde House, we will try and offer alternative accommodation or a full refund of all monies paid.

Injury/loss etc

The Olde House cannot be held responsible for any accident, damage, loss, injury, expense or inconvenience suffered by the hirer or any other person connected with the letting, or to personal belongings whilst in the property or the grounds of The Olde House.

Guests

I agree that if I invite guests to use The Olde House facilities, I/they will pay the necessary fees.

We operate a non-smoking policy in all cottages.
