Update on the 16/11/2021
This page gives an outline of the restrictions we have in place.
Please bear in mind that government guidance may change and this document will be updated accordingly.
The most important thing is please do not travel if you begin to feel unwell, or show COVID symptoms before your holiday.
If you or anyone in your party become ill during your stay, you will be required to notify the office, self isolate and travel home as soon as possible and follow the Governments advice.
Reception opening hours will be as normal. Mon – Sat 0900 – 1800hrs. Sunday closed.
We will be increasing the level and frequency of cleaning in all the communal areas.
Hand sanitiser dispensers will be situated around the site for you to use.
The cottages will be cleaned in line with the COVID-19 Cleaning Guidance issued by the Professional Association of Self Caterers (PASC).
Families will be required to leave the cottage by 0930hrs on the day of departure.
On departure guests will be asked to:
Strip their own beds (including pillow protectors) and put used linen in bags provided separating towels and sheets.
To empty all bins and place tied bags into the external waste bins.
Once vacated, the cottages will be cleaned in line with recommended procedures.
Guests will not be able to enter the cottage before 1630hrs. The key to your cottage will be left in the door.
Previous guests who know their way around are welcome to go straight to their cottage but please check with reception that your cottage is ready and to let us know you have arrived.
Please note the swimming pool is not open to the public.
The pool will be open only for families staying with us, everyday between 0900 – 2100hrs.
There is a schedule in the reception area where families can book 1 hour timed slots between 9am and 12 noon and 3pm and 7pm. From 12 noon-3pm and 7pm-9pm there is a “free swim session” which you don’t need to book for.
On arrival please initially only book 3 sessions. This will give everyone a chance to secure a swim.
Once eveyone has arrived, we will then allow the rest of the time slots to be taken.
The use of the pool in the booked sessions is restricted to 4 cottages at a time.
Please only book one slot per day and not at the same time each day.
Please write your cottage name in the session on the board.
Please leave the pool before the end of your time slot, so that you have exited the building by the end of the session.
If you are not going to use your time slot, please call the office so we can remove your cottage name.
Please don’t not enter the pool until the previous families have exited.
The changing rooms and showers are now open as usual.
Lockers will not be available.
The drinking fountain will not be available.
Please understand that we are trying to be fair and that we want every family to have a chance to swim.
There is no evidence that the virus which causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools and hot tubs. The normal daily usage of chlorine and bromine to clean the water is enough to make the virus inactive.
Lounge and games room
The lounge area is open from 9am until 9pm daily.
Our indoor play barn is open for families staying with us.
Outdoor Play Area
Open as normal.
The tennis courts will be open as normal. You can either bring your own rackets or use the ones in Penpont store.
The pets corner will be open during the day as normal and you are free to go and see the animals at any time. The animal feeding will be taking place each week morning and evening. We advice everyone to wash their hands after feeding or touching the animals and their enclosures.
Penpont Store will be open.
The communal laundry next to Penpont store will be unavailable on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays. The top laundry is available as normal.
The farm trail will be open as normal. The bird hide will also be open.

Charcoal bbq’s are available for use at your cottage – please ask at Reception if you require one.
Activities on site
During the school holidays we will be running animal feeding, falconry, pond dipping and the farm ride. We will also be holding our weekly BBQ’s – please book a time slot in reception by 12 noon on Monday.
The local area
Our information folders, which would normally be in the cottages, will not be available, however we have produced a .pdf version which we will be sent out prior to arrival.
Most visitor attractions will require booking in advance to ensure safe management of visitor numbers. So please research this before arrival.
Many of our local pubs, restaurants and cafes are open but we would advise booking these before you arrival.
Angels in the Kitchen and other supermarkets suppliers, will also be happy to deliver food to your cottage.
Please note that the food deliveries will be placed in your cottage by the provider. Our local village shop is open and provides basic items for example bread, eggs and milk along with newspapers.
Please arrange for food deliveries to be made after your arrival time. We will not be able to accept deliveries, prior to your arrival at The Olde House.
Should coronavirus travel restrictions be imposed, which prevent you from taking your holiday or us providing the holiday, we will either offer to move you to another time or provide you with a refund.
For any other cover that you require i.e self isolation, we strongly advise that you have your own travel insurance in place.
Outside of this, if you cancel your holiday and we are able to re let the cottage, we will refund you the value of the relet booking less an admin fee of £50.
I understand that if I am unable, for any reason, to take up the reservation, the whole rent is payable.
THE FOLLOWING ARE SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
1) You must not travel to us / Cornwall if you are showing signs of any symptoms.
2) If you develop any symptoms during your stay, you must immediately leave the cottage, inform the office and return home to self isolate. You are not permitted under any circumstances to remain at the cottage with symptoms.
3) You must not arrive at the property before the check in time.
4) Prior to departure, please make sure the property is clean and tidy. Our cleaners jobs are very difficult under these current circumstances.
5) Prior to departure, please strip all linen from beds and put in the bags provided. We need to reduce the handling of the linen at all times.
6) You must leave the cottage by the departure time.
We are working hard to adapt our business and to provide a memorable holiday.
