Pond-dipping

Help us see what we can find in one of our ponds

In summer 2014, our local primary school came for a farm visit. After visiting the bird hide we took a closer look at the pond and were amazed to find it teeming with life. The teachers had brought along trays and nets, and one swish caught 20 Water Boatmen. Encouraged by the children’s enthusiasm, Jaime decided to offer pond-dipping as a regular school holiday activity for our guests.

We provide the trays, nets and charts to identify the array pond life: who knows what you’ll find!
