A little background...
The Olde House is part of Penpont Farm , a 500 acre working farm in cornwall that has been in the Hawkey family for three generations. This is what gives our converted barns and self catering cottages in Cornwall such appeal to everyone who stays with us.
Many enjoy the mix of peace and quiet that the beautiful Cornish countryside brings and the day to day comings and goings of a working farm. It's very relaxing to walk around our 500 acres and see how we raise our cattle and sheep and take care of our arable crops. You might even want to help Kevin in the pets' corner look after the baby lambs and goats.
Cornish Cottage: Perfect for self catering in Cornwall
Family cottage holidays at The Olde House consists of a number of traditional stone barns with slate roofs, our first farm holiday cottages, Manor, Marsh and Bridge Cottages as well as some new cottages that have been built in the traditional Cornish style.
We also have a small selection of additional cottages and farmhouses in and around the village of Chapel Amble. They offer all the comforts you'd expect and are just a few moments from the facilities of The Olde House.
All of our on site family holiday cottages have free wireless internet for you to use.
When to visit Cornwall?
Anytime. We're open all year round at The Olde House. And as well as having some of the most striking scenery in the country, we're home to some of the most dramatic weather! The changing seasons have a big impact on the way the countryside looks and feels.
So The Olde House will be different each time you visit, but always beautiful. Come and enjoy a peaceful romantic break, treat the kids on their school holidays or even come and celebrate the festive season with us.

Facilities & activities: Anyone for a dip?
Installing a leisure centre right in the heart of the farm was an ambitious project for us, but one that's proved a real hit with our guests. It's got a Cornwall indoor pool and much more, so don't forget your swimming gear.
As we've grown, so have the facilities and activities we offer. Need wireless internet access? How about an evening game of snooker? We've got it covered. It's all about making your stay comfortable. We're family-friendly too, and have plenty of fun activities to keep children busy if you want to enjoy some time to yourself.
