Walks in Cornwall « Cornwall Coastal Footpath

This footpath has world famous scenery and runs completely around the whole county. An Ordnance Survey map is recommended as there are so many lovely walks to enjoy. Have fun making up your own favourite walk. Enjoy our stunning county.

This is an easy local walk, but gets slippery with mud in wet weather.

Walk the steep path from Polzeath up to Pentire Head and enjoy the stunning views up the coast to Bude and down the coast to St Ives.

On a clear day Lundy Island is visable from Pentire, continue walking along towards the outcrop of rocks called The Rumps, which has the remains of an Iron Age castle complete with ramparts.

You will pass a slate memorial to the poet Beynon and the familiar words he wrote here, which are used by the British Legion each Rememberance Day. Linger a while, and be inspired by all that is around you.

Continue along the cliff walk eventually arriving at Lundy Hole, the path climbs up and there is car parking at the top opposite the gate, or you can continue walking down the road to Polzeath.
