The highest points in Cornwall are here with Brown Willy at 1,377ft. and Roughtor at 1,300ft. Both are reasonable easy to walk up if you follow the paths from the public car park. If you have your binoculars you will easily see the River Camel and the town of Wadebridge.
There are two large reservoirs on the moor Colliford and Siblyback - and one small natural lake - Dozmary Pool. This is supposed to have been the resting place of Excalibur. Nearby at Bolventor is the famous Jamaica Inn with its tales of smuggling and skulduggery.
Drive towards Camelford, passing through the town and up the hill you will see the turning to Roughtor on the right hand side clearly marked.
