Survival and Shelter Building for Kids

Cornwall has some great forests and woodland areas for you to explore and enjoy during a self catering Cornwall holiday. However, you might have found it hard to convince your kids that heading out for a walk in the woods was as enjoyable as you claimed, but what if doing so would teach them the skills to become a wilderness survival expert, able to build a shelter and find food and water?

A woodland shelter, though the ones your kids build on their self catering Cornwall holidays will probably be greener.

Well, with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust's Survival and Shelter Building course, running for two and a half hours from 10am until 12.30 on Saturday 25th February, your kids can do exactly that. They'll learn what natural materials are good for shelter, how to locate streams and other sources of water, and what can be eaten from the forest. They'll even learn how to find their way through wooded areas without a compass.

Booking is essential for this course, which can be done on 01872 273939 extension 203. The activity is suitable for five to fifteen year olds and suitable clothing and footwear for woodland walking is necessary.
