Beautiful Footpath Reopens near St Austell

The Cornish coast is a great place to explore during a self catering Cornwall holiday, and one of the best ways to do that is to head out on some of the excellent coastal footpaths that the county offers. Unfortunately, these footpaths can sometimes become blocked, impassable or destroyed due to natural events, such as extreme weather or, as in the case of the footpath which connects the beaches at Duporth and Charlestown, landslides.

The landslide happened five years ago, but getting funding to repair the path has taken a long time, with a £20,000 donation coming from the South West Coast Path Association sealing the deal. The landslide wasn't cleared, but a new section of path has been created around where it took place, once again joining the paths and making them traversable.

The footpath is a great way to walk between the two beaches and enjoy both of them without having to take to the roads, perfect for families.
