Help with Stock Taking at Newquay Blue Reef Aquarium
Each year, in January, Newquay's Blue Reef Aquarium begins its stock taking, counting up how many animals they have so that they can maintain accurate records, plan for the year ahead and work out which tanks will need to have their inhabitants swapped in the coming months. It's a difficult task for them, which is why they're drafting in anybody taking a self catering Cornwall holiday.
You can head to the aquarium right now and, in addition to seeing all of their fascinating creatures, you'll be able to take part in the stock taking by counting the different types of animal in each of the tanks. Some you'll be able to count easily, but others, like the hermit crabs, might require some guestimation.
It's a fun way to get kids engaged during a visit, and the closest numbers to the official counts will receive prizes for helping to get the aquariums books in order.
